Brunch at Marty’s Market

Brunch at Marty's Market
My amazing brunch at Marty’s Market
*DISCLAIMER*: I do not seek monetary benefits from neither Marty’s Market, nor, I Made it! Market & Organically Social. I’m just a Pittsburgh foodie, who enjoys sharing her foodie experiences. All photos were captured with my iPhone 5s, and were edited with Adobe Photoshop CS4 Extended.

Sunday, April 26th, Organically Social and the I Made it! Market both co-hosted the first I Made it Healthy event in Pittsburgh’s historic Strip District neighborhood. Of course, I had to attend brunch before the event; my Mom and I settled on Marty’s Market (also  in the Strip District). The eatPGH ladies have said that Marty’s Market serves up the best brunch in the ‘burgh. Thus, I had to taste brunch for myself!

Marty's Market Pork Belly Sandwich
P.B.L.T. (Pork Belly, Lettuce, Tomato) Sandwich at Marty’s Market
My main brunch dish: Pork Belly, Lettuce and Tomato Sandwich (P.B.L.T) with an egg on top! Let me tell you: both the bread and the pork belly were GREAT! Although, you could’ve just given me the pork belly. I HAD to try this sandwich, the pork belly at Marty’s Market was recommended by my friend and fellow blogger Fox. The crispy pork belly from Grit & Grace is still my favorite Pittsburgh pork belly, but Marty’s Market’s did a good job with the pork belly.

Vegan Pancake
Beer-battered, vegan pancake from Marty’s Market
One of my side dishes ended up being the HIGHLIGHT of brunch! A 3 Bells Oberon Ale vegan pancake = one of THE best pancakes I’ve ever had in the ‘burgh (no joke). Next time I visit Marty’s Market for brunch, I’m just getting the pancakes!

Bacon!

My second side dish: BACON! This was some of the rest bacon I’ve EVER had; just the right combination of smoky-ness and fat! I know this bacon came from a local farm, but I forget which one. X)

Eggs Benedict
My Mom’s brunch dish: Egg’s Benedict
Here’s my Mom’s main brunch dish- Eggs Benedict! She said this was REALLY good; Mom also enjoyed a side salad (similar to mine, which I also loved).

The verdict: I would definitely go back for the pancakes and organic chocolate whole milk (my brunch beverage of choice at Marty’s Market)!

Three Cheers to good food, fabulous art and cultural events,

-Friendly Pittsburgh Foodie
