Vegan Eats in the burgh

A lovely Almond Milk Latte from The Whitfield (inside the Ace Hotel)! I love that both the Ace Hotel and The Whitfield provide #dairyfree and #Vegan options for their coffee and chai!

*NOTE*: None of these businesses asked me to include them in this post. I am just a Mindful Pittsburgh Foodie, who enjoys sharing my mindful practices with others. Photos captured on an iPhone 7s. Edited with Instagram and Adobe Photoshop CS4.

Whether you either are Vegan, or just like to make mindful food choice (like me), here are some Vegan Eats in the ‘Burgh!

Back in March of last year, Relish and Reed & Co. did a Pop-up brunch at The Vandal. Of course, my Mom and I attended! Here, you see two donuts from Relish, and an Almond Mylk Latte (the Almond Mylk provided by Reed & Co.)! ❤

The first time my Mom and I visited the Gluten-Free Goat Bakery & Cafe‘s Brick-and-Mortar location, I ordered this LOVELY donut! 😀

I also enjoyed this coffee with Pumpkin Seed Creamer from the Gluten-Free Goat Bakery & Cafe in Bloomfield!

Last year, I also went to a Relish Pop-up at Caffe De Amore in Lawrenceville. I HOUSED this Blondie Donut from them in the car; so damn good!

Before a theater production in the Cultural District, my Mom and I went to the Smallman Galley in the Strip District! I ordered the Vegan Pizza (pictured above) from Iron Born, and I have to say it was pretty good! I’m glad they’ll be staying in the Smallman Galley!

My BFF from college and I went to Square Cafe for brunch (back in December 2017)! I ordered the Jackfruit Bowl (which also came with sweet potatoes, mushrooms, and green onions). This was the only dish I could find on the menu that was both #dairyfree & #grainfree; so good! This was also Vegan & Gluten Free!

Next up, I paid a visit to Relish’s Pop-up shop for a dressed-up Beyond Burger (with Vegan Bleu Cheese and an Onion Ring)! Pretty damn good!

The “Bleu Cheese Burger” in all its glory (from Relish)!

After Handmade Arcade last year, my BFF from college and I went to Apteka. Of course, I had to order a small pierogi plate! These are THE best pierogies I’ve EVER had!

I also ordered this Mushroom & Onion soup from Apteka! One of THE best soups I’ve EVER had!

Earlier on this year, my co-worker and I went to Lili Cafe for brunch after yoga! I enjoyed my brunch so much, I forgot to take a photo! XD Lili Cafe offers lots of Vegan and Vegetarian options.

One fateful Saturday off, one of my best yoga buddies and I went to Onion Maiden for Brunch! We both ordered these Gluten-Free & Vegan Tacos! ❤

All brunch dishes at Onion Maiden come with the “Kale ’em Tots”: Tater Tots with Kale Salad!

I stopped at Onion Maiden (again) one Saturday in February, and got the “Mochi Waffles” to go! This time, they came with a Chocolate Hazelnut drizzle (and Maple Syrup)! It was too hard to resist! Hands down, the best brunch dish at Onion Maiden!

Well there you go, folks! As you can see, there are lots of Vegan dining options in Pittsburgh! If you would like to learn more, I encourage you to follow Vegan Pittsburgh, the VegFest and VegFeast (and attend both events each year)! Fitt Pittsburgh also writes great blog posts about Gluten-Free and Vegan eats in the ‘Burgh!

Next up on the blog: my first two brunches at Or, The Whale PGH!

Be well,

Mindful PGH Foodie
