2018 Adventures at The Vandal

My friend Megan’s Fried Chicken Sandwich with carrot slaw and honey from The Vandal! In my opinion, this is there best brunch/lunch dish!

*NOTE*: Neither The Vandal nor Joey Hilty asked me to write this post. I am a Mindful Pittsburgh Foodie, who enjoys sharing my foodie and yoga adventures with others. Photos taken on an iPhone 7s; edited with Adobe Photoshop CS4 Extended, Adobe Photoshop Express and Instagram.

Also, when I dined at The Vandal, Csilla Thackray was still the Executive Chef. Now, she is Chef du Cuisine at Legume in Oakland. Owner Joey Hilty is currently Executive Chef at The Vandal. I can’t wait to try his food, as well as FINALLY dine at Legume for Csilla’s food!

If you’ve been following my blog for a while, it’s no secret that The Vandal in the Lawrenceville neighborhood of Pittsburgh is one of my FAVORITE restaurants. Not just because of the food, but also due to the ambiance, excellent customer service, and friendly environment (thank you Joey)! Here are a few of my food adventures from last year at The Vandal:

The same day I went to brunch with my friend Megan, I ordered The Vandal Cheeseburger (without cheese and bun) and French fries. This particular week, a part of the sales from The Vandal Cheeseburger went to Planned Parenthood of Western Pennsylvania. Naturally, I had to show my support. I gotta say, one of THE best burgers I’ve ever had, and the fries were INCREDIBLE!

The day my Mom and I saw “Isle of Dogs” at Row House Cinema (also in Lawrenceville) I ordered these Purple Corn Pancakes with bacon on the side. Absolutely delightful! ❤

Next up, I celebrated my birthday at The Vandal! I ordered this fall quiche (which came with this night and light side salad). I never thought I would say this, but this is THE best quiche I’ve ever had (don’t tell my Mom lol)! XD

Here is what my friend Stacy ordered: Soft Scramble with ricotta, rye toast and a side salad. I mean, is that a perfect brunch or what?

So there you have it, folks! Whether you either live in Pittsburgh or just visiting, a HIGHLY recommend visiting The Vandal (especially for brunch)!

Next up: Brunchin‘ at Bar Marco!

Cheers to mindful eating,

-Mindful Pittsburgh Foodie
