*NOTE*: I visited Superior Motors in August 2018, WAY before the COVID-19 pandemic started. Also, neither Kevin Sousa nor Superior Motors asked me to write this post. I am simply a Mindful Pittsburgh Foodie and a Yoga Teacher/Student, who enjoys sharing her foodie and yoga adventures with others. Photos taken on an iPhone 7s, and were edited within Instagram.
Superior Motors opened in the Braddock neighborhood of Pittsburgh back in December 2017. I have been a Kevin Sousa (who is the owner and Executive Chef of Superior Motors) for a while now. Thus, I was waiting for the opportune moment to visit Superior Motors! As Pittsburgh Restaurant Week offers THE perfect opportunity to enjoy a Prix-Fixe meal at a restaurant for a reduced price, here was my opportunity! Plus, my friend and I wanted to celebrate Anthony Bourdain’s life (as he had passed away in June 2018). When Anthony filmed the Parts Unknown: Pittsburgh episode, the very end of the episode was filmed here. He dined with Kevin Sousa, John and Giselle Fetterman, and Franco Harris.
I am REALLY glad Anthony had a chance to dine here. When he visited Pittsburgh in 2013 as part of the “Good vs. Evil” tour he did with Chef Eric Ripert, one of his regrets was not having the opportunity to dine at Salt of the Earth (which at one time, Kevin Sousa was the Executive Chef). FINALLY, Bourdain had his opportunity to try Sousa’s food (in good company, no less!).

So there you have it, folks! Whether you’re either from Pittsburgh or just visiting, I HIGHLy recommend visiting Superior Motors. It’s now on my list as one of the THE best restaurants in Pittsburgh!
